Residential Loans! Private Money Loans! Home

Congratulations, I want to compliment you on taking the time to work on improving your credit scores! There are steps you can take to make sure your Credit Scores are as accurate as possible.

Step 1.
Verify that all the information on your credit report is accurate. Look at the balances, high credit limits, dates account opened, status of account, date the account last reported.

Step 2.
Most importantly you need to verify the accuracy of any derogatory item being reported against you by the creditors.

Types  of Derogatory Items:

1. Slow Payments:  30, 60, 90, 120, 180 Day delinquencies.
2. Collection Accounts:  Credit accounts which have not been paid at all, and are reporting that the creditor is attempting to collect the debt in full.
3. Charge Offs: Credit accounts in which the creditor has been unsuccessful in the collection of the debt. They have failed to collect the debt, and have now charged it off as a bad debt.
4. Repossession:  This is a collateralized debt, in which the collateral was taken back by the creditor, and a deficiency balance was due and not paid by the borrower.
5. Judgments: Debt that was created due to a court action in which you lost  a court   case.
6. Tax Liens: Delinquent property, state, or federal income taxes that are left unpaid for a certain amount of time.
7. Bankruptcy: Borrower filed for Bankruptcy, personal or business.
8. Foreclosure:  Borrower lost house due to lack of payments.

Step 3.
You should dispute any and all items appearing on your credit report that you feel are inaccurate or are not being reported completely as they transpired.

Use the sample dispute letter on the website.   Sample Letter
THE LETTER MUST BE SENT TO  THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR AND ALL THREE CREDIT BUREAUS.

The dispute letter needs to contain all the items listed below:

1.  Your name and address.
2.  The Creditor’s name and address
3.  The full account number
4.  The Date the item is listed on the credit report
5.  The specific item you are disputing. (ie, a 30 day delinquency) you need to state that the account was paid on time.
6.  What you want: You are requesting that this item be removed from your bureau all together. You want a “Letter of  Deletion”
